I am the owner of a three and a half year old Rottweiler named Shorty. When she turned two she
began to have a serious aggression problem. No one could enter or exit my house, she would lunge at
people while we were on walks, and she began to show dominance over me and my family.
I took Shorty to three different trainers and was told that it was hopeless and that she should be
euthanized. To me, that was unacceptable. I came across Russ Rathy's business card at the Moose Jaw
Humane Society where I am employed. I called him and set up an appointment and he came to
Moose Jaw to see me.
After talking with Russ for over an hour, and reading the information that he brought for me, I knew
that there was hope for Shorty. We started working with her and seen immediate progress. Now I can
have as many people over as I want, I can walk her without a prong collar or muzzle, and I can trust
leaving her with my family while I'm gone.
Russ Rathy's techniques and professionalism are outstanding. He didn't just train her for me, he showed
me how to train her. He didn't simply tell me I had a problem, he told me why and how to correct it. I
have dealt with many different trainers in my profession, but I have met no one as talented as Russ.
The first time I saw him interact with Shorty I could tell that he is able to connect with the dog and read
what it is thinking. More importantly, he is determined to see the best from the dog and the owner,
and he strives to achieve every goal he sets for you. Throughout my dealings with him he would call
just to ask how things were going and answer any questions I had. That alone shows that he truly cares
and takes pride in what he does.
I would highly recommend Russ Rathy to anyone who wants to see results and improvement in their
dogs as he has proven to me to be remarkably talented. I would be happy to answer any questions
concerning this matter.

My name is Scott Robinson. I live in Calgary, Alberta with my four year old German Shepherd named
Diego.
I bought him from a breeder in Northern Alberta when he was six weeks old.
Diego was a handful as a puppy; biting and chewing everything in sight (including my family and my
stuff!)
As he grew, so did his attitude and problems. Jumping up, growling, and nipping became a part of
everyday life. Grooming and nail cutting were impossible and no form of training had any effect.
When Diego was 2 1/2, I took him to the vet for his yearly shots. It was during this examination that
Diego turned and bit the vet!
The vet was upset and told me that my dog was aggressive and dominant, and was a result of poor
breeding. He said that Diego would never change and that he should be euthanized.
Over the next year I consulted several different trainers and specialists that used various techniques.
After spending a fortune and wasting time and effort on equipment and classes, I was exasperated to find
that Diego only got worse.
At this point I began to question Diego's breeding, his intelligence (or lack of it) and considered putting
him down.
I came across an newspaper article featuring Russ and Shaun Rathy. The article featured their business
and services that they provide to the public. I was impressed by their education and attitude towards
dog training, and decided to call and find out what could be done with Diego.
To make a long story short, Mr. Rathy has shown me that Diego isn't stupid or a product of poor
breeding. Just the opposite; Diego is an excellent dog with good genes and has very high drives
compared to the average dog.
Mr. Rathy taught me about natural canine drives and behavior in a way that was easy to understand.
After spending almost two months training with Mr. Rathy, I now have a well-mannered obedient dog
that I'm proud to call my own.
We are often complimented on him and I feel that I can now take him anywhere and teach him anything.
When it comes right down to it, I have to admit that I had more to learn than my dog did. I am thankful
I met Shaun and Russ when I did rather than following the advice of those other "specialists" and
"professionals" and have my dog put to sleep.
I am happy to recommend them to all of my friends, coworkers and family, and hope that other
frustrated owners will call them before making the same mistake I almost did.
Thanks again,
Scott & Diego
